Nigel Grierson, Managing Director & Co-Founder, Doughty Hanson Technology Fund

Nigel Grierson is a co-Managing Director and Founder of the Doughty Hanson Technology Fund. The $272M Technology Fund invests on a pan-European basis from offices in London and Munich. The Fund focuses on early-stage companies in growth areas within the market sectors of communications, hardware, consumer technologies (including renewable energy), and semiconductors . Prior to joining Doughty Hanson, Mr. Grierson was the Group Director for Intel Capital Europe, managing a team responsible for making strategic equity investments, acquisitions and developing new business opportunities for Intel throughout Europe. He and the team together originated and invested in over 35 technology start-up companies, many of which became substantial public companies. During his 15 year career at Intel he also held the positions of: European Divisional Director for Networking Products with responsibility for sales marketing and product development; European Marketing Director; and Group Systems Engineering Manager. Previously to Intel he worked at AT&T in the Communications Product Division leading a team developing high performance silicon processors, and at Schneider developing industrial process control systems. Mr Grierson graduated with qualifications in telecommunication engineering and electrical engineering. He is an alumnus of Insead Fontainbleau.

 

Luca Bassi, Principal, Bain Capital

Luca joined Bain Capital in 2003 from Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Division in London where he advised Italian and international companies on cross-border M&A transactions. Previously he worked as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company in Milan where he focused on the industrial, consumer goods and financial services sector. Luca has an MBA from Columbia  Business School and a BS Magna Cum Laude from Bocconi University.

 

Jeff Paduch, Director, Advent International


 Jeff joined Advent in 2002 from the Financial Sponsors/ Leveraged Finance Group of UBS. Jeff has worked on Advent's investments in Worldpay, Cardsave, Xafinity, Equinity (formerly Llyods TSB Registrars), Domestic & General, CAMS, Sophis, Venere Net, American Radiology Services, Long Term Care Group, Wage Works & Aspen Technology. He looks at Business Services, Financial Services & Techology. He is currently on board of Worldpay.
